No offense to any of those who enjoy this movie, but of all the musicals I have watched in my short but highly opinionated existence, this was the worst. It's populated by a slew of unrelatable, uninteresting and unlikeable characters who are excruciatingly vain and have a disturbing affection for cigarettes. These characters proceed to spend the entirety of the movie either banging or trash-talking each other, frequently interrupted by immemorial dance numbers that took far too much inspiration from Elvis. All this is somehow tied together with a capricious romance that is annoying at best with a distinct lack of chemistry between the two parties. The female lead was the only character that wasn't a horrid slut, but by the end of the movie she trades in her sweet, innocent character for a pair of leggings so tight you could read the numbers of a credit card in her back pocket. She throws all remnants of her morals that wasn't attacked by the rest of the girls to the wind in order to chase a sleazeball womanizer. It could have been a good musical, it's got a lot of great actors and I could have liked it, but between the peer pressure, drinking, smoking, sexual references, irritating characters and overall lack of plot I'm afraid I can't. Again, no offense to those who enjoyed this film, but there are better ones.
